NYC YOUTH FORUM

Date: Monday, August. 29th, 2011
Location: Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building Plaza (163rd West 125th St. New York, NY)
Time: 4:30-8:00pm

Please invite any youth that may be interested in attending the YOUTH POWER! NYC Youth Forum. Annually, YOUTH POWER! hosts a youth forum in NYC for youth to have the opportunity to network with other youth, engage into fun activities and voice their concerns and opinions about cross system issues affecting them such as ( Juvenile Justice, Mental Health, Foster Care, and Education). As a result, youth feedback helps outline our Priority Agenda for 2012.

YOUTH POWER!  is a youth driven statewide advocacy network of young individuals with disabilities, have been labeled or have shared an experience within a child serving system such as  foster care, Juvenile justice, mental health, special education etc. YP! advocates for the youth within these child serving systems. We currently have a membership of about 200 youth throughout New York State. Youth Power! empowers youth to be active citizens, aware of government operations, their rights and the ability to use their voices to influence policies, practices, regulations and laws in a positive way.

Enjoy an evening of systems advocacy, exciting youth performances, raffle prizes, and much more!

An event you don’t want to miss!!!
